All About Me

I'm a mom...I'm an Army wife....I'm a sister to a soldier and a sister to a 14 year old.....

I met my wonderful husband Ryan in April 2006. We married December 29, 2006 in front of a small group of friends and family. Unfortunately he deployed 13 days later. 14 months and 21 days later he was finally home from the sandbox and we soon announced the arrival of identical twin girls.

I love my girls more than life itself even when they drive me bonkers. Eryn, my 11 year old is our doodlebug. She's incredibly intelligent and loves math and science two subjects that I hated in school. She's shy and quiet to people she doesn't know. She's a great big sister and Kendra wants sissa more--little attachment there. Every night she's the one who reads them a story complete with kiddie voices.

Our twins Krista and Kendra are the little spit firers of the house. Most people don't know, but they almost didn't make it into the world. We were diagnosed with TTTS(Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) in August when I was approximately 19 weeks. It essentially means that the babies were not getting equal amounts of oxygen, blood and nutrients to help them grow. Our peanut Krista was considered the donor with Kendra the recipient. After a wonderful team of doctors at Cincinnati children's hospital performed the surgery to help each baby get equal shares of the placenta were we given much more hopeful prognosis. We made it to 31 weeks and 6 days before they decided they wanted out. Krista was born 4 pounds, 1 ounce and Kendra was 4 pounds, 13 ounces. Spent 23 days in the NICU before finally coming home. The girls were nicknamed peanut and KK by the NICU nurses. They both still have those nicknames and they definitely fit.

Right now were living in El Paso, Texas on Fort Bliss. Not our type of place after coming from the south, but we'll manage till we get to move.
